The Lives Worth Living Series presents Rev. Emily Harkins: “Passion and Purpose in Action - Building Community through Embodied Faith and Reimagined Church.”

In a world marked by isolation, injustice and division, this conversation explores the story of The Dwelling—a church without walls that centers community among those often pushed to the margins. Through powerful storytelling and lived experience, listeners are invited to reimagine faith as embodied, relational and rooted in belonging. This is a conversation for anyone discerning how to live out their call in ways that are bold, faithful and deeply human.

The Rev. Emily Harkins is a community builder, founding developer and lead pastor of The Dwelling church in Winston-Salem, N.C. She was ordained as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in May 2020. During the last seven years, Hawkins has provided pastoral care to her neighbors and has heard their requests for a deeper community of faith.
