About this Event
Free EventAlumni who have celebrated their 50th class reunions are invited back to campus to celebrate being a Golden Bear. Whether you’re on campus all the time, or it’s been a while, this will be a wonderful day full of Bear Pride. All events are free unless otherwise noted. Registration is requested.
8:30 a.m. | Coffee and Pastries | Belk Centrum Lobby
Start your morning with a cup of coffee or tea while mingling with fellow Golden Bears before the program.
9-10 a.m. | Highlights of Today’s LR | Belk Centrum
Begin your reunion celebration in Belk Centrum for an engaging program highlighting the exceptional endeavors happening at LR. Three dynamic 15-minute presentations led by LR faculty, staff and students will showcase the university’s innovative initiatives and unique projects. One of these presentations will be led by Dr. Charles Cooke ’59, who began teaching at LR in 1964 and plans to retire at the end of the academic year.
10:30 a.m. | Golden Bear Brunch | Cromer Center Banquet Room
Golden Bears are invited to a brunch buffet in the Cromer Center Banquet Room, located inside the campus dining hall, starting at 10:30 a.m. Alumni and their guests will indulge in a variety of morning delights while reconnecting with classmates and reminiscing about shared memories. During this time, we will pay special tribute to the class of 1964, celebrating their remarkable 60th reunion milestone. Additionally, university president, Dr. Fred Whitt, will provide an exclusive update including insights into the latest developments at LR.
12 p.m. | Spring Football Game | Moretz Stadium, Southwest Corner Suite
Complete your reunion experience by attending the spring football game in Moretz Stadium. Golden Bears and their guests are welcome to watch this scrimmage from the southwest corner suite, conveniently situated near the main visitor entrance. This will be a great opportunity to see the new head coach, Doug Socha, in action! Stick around after the game for Bearapalooza and other athletic-themed events.
Golf carts will be available for those who need assistance moving around campus.
