Walters is named after Washington Senators' pitcher Walter Perry Johnson, also known as "Barney" or  "the Big Train." Johnson was regarded as one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history, still holding the all-time career leader in shutouts with 110. He was also one of the first five players to be elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
