The annual 828 Day, hosted by LR Athletics, is a free, family-friendly event featuring games and interactive stations hosted by each of LR’s athletic teams. Kids can hit a home run with Bears baseball, dunk a basketball with Bears basketball and enjoy many more fun activities. Additional indoor activities available in Shuford Arena.

At 6 p.m., fans are invited to gather on the field to cheer on Bears football as they kick off against West Florida—broadcast live on the stadium’s big screen. Lawn chairs and picnic blankets are encouraged.

828 Day was established in 2018 as a way for LR to give back to the Hickory and greater Unifour community, while honoring the vital role local support plays in developing student-athletes to be champions in life.
